Endorsement: Brian Murphy for State Assembly

August 23, 2010

MADISON — On behalf of its thousands of members, Clean Wisconsin Action Fund proudly announced its endorsement of Brian Murphy for the 96th Assembly District today.

“Brian Murphy understands that clean energy and sustainable agriculture policies will protect the environment, support businesses and create jobs in the 96th Assembly District,” said Gary Goyke, board chair of the Clean Wisconsin Action Fund. “On the heels of a Legislative session when much environmental legislation was dismissed or stagnated, Murphy would bring a welcome voice on clean energy to our state Assembly.”

The 96th Assembly District is well-known for its commitment to clean energy and sustainable agriculture.  Soldiers Grove, America’s first solar village, holds the first business district in the U.S. to be powered by solar energy, Gays Mills is currently rebuilding using sustainable smart growth practices, and Vernon County holds the distinction of having the most organic farms in the nation. Murphy understands that supporting clean energy policies will allow businesses in the 96th District to flourish and create jobs.

“Surrounded by clean energy companies and organic farms, constituents of the 96th Assembly District want a leader who will support policies that promote clean energy and sustainable agriculture,” said Goyke. “A vote for Brian Murphy is a vote to keep southwest Wisconsin’s environment clean and its economy strong.”
